Wedding Shoes

Tried a couple of pairs on in the Tailors cat in Cambridge, but wondering now about Red Shoes! A bit different and would go with the theme... good for wearing afterwards too! These are from BHS

Dogs for Photos

Comtemplating the possibility of having someone bring the poochies from the kennels for half hour or so for a couple of photos... who could we trust enough to do this who wont be there for the reception ??? Jo? Would the Felix let them on the grounds for half hour? Would the kennels let us pick them up anytime? Could we control Monty enough to calm down around all the guests (on lead) so he doesn't damage my dress? If it doesn't work out we'll always have the pictures I'm gonna take of them im their bowties for the wedding invites.... we can put them in the album so they are part of it

Table decorations

Have bought some bargain waisted glass vases to make our wedding table centerpieces from for less than half price at £5 each. They were £12 each originally! Bargain! love this bargain hunting.... must write a list of all the money we've saved :)

Thinking of putting a single flower inside them with the stem curled up in a swirl maybe filled with water with a floating candle or maybe sat on some sort of flat base with four candles on each corner.

Also found this diamond table confetti too on ebay. Made out of acrylic but could use it to add sparkle to table and to glue to make fancy rims on the vases i bought. They do red, black and clear for our theme.

7.00 - evening guests arrive
7.30 - first dance + disco starts (Photographer finishes as 7.45)
(if photographer will have a break could move first dance to 8.30pm)
9.00 - buffet
12.00 - end

Bridesmaid dresses - fave so far

Here's my favourite bridesmaid dress so far... and not too bad a price for a bridesmaid dress at £69.95! I think this could be the one if the girlies agree.
I think it would compliment my dress really well with the nice touch of detail. Even has its own little train!!

Collie Cakes

These are the cakes Janice made for the Wiccaweys show in August. Will try to replicate these but will put red bow ties on too. Janice says:

The key items to make the faces are:
- mini Smarties (the kind that come in funsize packs and are smaller than regular smarties), for eyes and sticky out tongue Tongue
- mini rectangular Jaffa cakes (in little bags from M&S or you also get them in Budgens as Bahlsen Messino Minis), these are cut in half diagonally for the ears
- white marshmallows, each of these are cut into three slices to give you two noses and a middle slice to cut up to for two white strips

The rest is just chocolate cupcakes and dark chocolate icing.

TIP - Bambagirl says you can get cupcakes from Asda 12 for 48p - I could just buy them so they all look same sze and ice/decorate them myself! Perhaps put them in red paper cases.

Photographer Chosen!

After looking through quite a few photographers, and finding the first 2 which we called booked up, we ended up going for not such a local one, from Devon! But we loved his photos and managed to get £450 of what he originally would have charged. He's travelling for free and knocked a further £200 off. Still pricey (about twice our budget), but fab photos and just the style we were looking for. Natural, reportage style. And voted 3rd in top ten wedding photographers of the UK. Just had to up our savings standing order to afford it!!

She is now booked in to do our cake topper!
